The Blue Ridge Ladies’ Golf Association played its Member-Guest tournament on July 22 at Blue Ridge Country Club.

Mary Jane Carico and Gail Grockett teamed to win first place in Division I. Second-place honors went to Chris Hale and Judy Chambers. Cindy Salyer and Trish Golding took third, while Alice Hill and Patsy Chaffin placed fourth.

The team of Margaret Hensley and Betsy Trevillian took first-place honors in Division II, while Dot Lord and Barbara Gould finished second. Bertha Nunley and Evelyn Wagg were third, followed by the fourth-place team of Alice Thomason and Cathy Pattison and the fifth-place duo of Brenda Harmon and Wendy Dove.

In Division III action, Janice Dillon and Diana Nunley teamed to win the division. Jo Anne Richardson and Nancy Cole placed second, while third place went to Shannon Edwards and Kathy Cox. Lucy Neff and Vanessa Clark claimed fourth place, while Betty Parish and Carol Morris were fifth.

Closest to the Pin honors went to Cindy Salyer in Division I, Margaret Cheek in Division II and Diana Nunley in Division III. Longest drive awards went to Becky Guynn in Division I, Bertha Nunley in Division II and Cherie Downey in Division III.

There was also a special recognition as tournament chairman Mary Jane Carico recognized Margaret Hensley for her hole-in-one on Hole #6 while playing Fountain Springs Golf Course on Oct. 6, 2009.
