Among the 55 people indicted by a Carroll County Grand Jury on Monday were two local men accused of distributing illegal drugs near a pair of Carroll County schools.

Charles Terry Caudill and Gregory Harris Combs were both indicted Monday for their alleged roles in distributing drugs near Woodlawn School and Gladeville Elementary School, respectively.

Caudill was indicted Monday for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, abuse and neglect of a child, two counts of receiving stolen firearms, possession of a firearm while possessing marijuana, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, and possession of marijuana upon public property or property within 1,000 feet of property open to public or private schools. Caudill was arrested and charged Feb. 11 after local police seized five pounds, 11 ounces of marijuana, 28 guns and $12,800 in cash in a drug bust at his residence across the street from Woodlawn School.

Less than a month later, on March 9, Combs was arrested and charged on numerous drug offenses after the execution of a search warrant at his residence at 324 Bee Line Drive, across the road from Gladeville Elementary School. Approximately one quarter of an ounce of methamphetamine was seized at the residence with a street value of more than $1,200 that law enforcement officials said was pre-packaged for sale.

Combs was indicted Monday for possession of a Schedule II Drug (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule II Drug upon public property or property within 1,000 feet of property open to public or private schools.
