Due to an ongoing investigation, the Dublin Police Department has not yet released the name of a Carroll County resident fatally injured in a car accident Monday, January 21 in Dublin.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., a 2001 Buick driven by a Carroll County resident pulled in front of the oncoming path of a 1999 Dodge truck driven by a resident of Radford at the intersection of Fourth Street and Route 100 in Dublin, the Dublin Police Department said in a press release.

“The driver of the Buick was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she later passed away from her injuries,” the press release stated. “The driver of the truck was not injured. No names are being released at this time pending notification of family members.”

A representative with the Dublin Police Department cited an ongoing investigation for the withholding of the names, which he said would be released within 72 hours of the accident.
