At an early age, Ed’s father taught him the trade of carpentry. After serving in WWII as a flight engineer in the Army Air Corp, he made his career as a Master Carpenter. In 1966, his skills lead him to Washington, D.C. where he worked first, in the NASA building, then in THE WHITE HOUSE under PRESIDENTS, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Reagan. After retiring in 1981, he and his wife moved back to Hillsville where he led an active life of traveling, gardening, canning, deer hunting, fishing, and helping friends and family with his many skills. “DADDY’S HANDS” gave love to all. He was a friend to everyone who met him and entertained all with his many life stories.
