Dugspur man injured in motorcycle accident

A 69-year-old Dugspur man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Route 221 near Dugspur on Sept. 15.

According to Virginia State Police reports, Alva G. Davis was driving a 1985 Harley Davidson motorcycle at approximately 6 p.m. when he lost control in a curve, ran off the right side of the road, traveled down a steep embankment, struck a ditch and overturned, ejecting Davis. The accident occurred five-tenths of a mile south of Route 672 (New Hope Road).

Trooper S.O. Rector charged Davis with reckless driving, failure to maintain control.

Davis was transported to a regional hospital, but no word on his condition was available.
