Joy Banks Combs, 69, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Combs was born in Carroll County to the late Lawrence Jefferson and Nancy Arizona Banks. She is survived by her husband, Billy Combs of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Jennifer Combs of Bentonville, AR; granddaughter, Skylar Arizona Combs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Foy and Reva Banks of Hillsville and Connie and Bevie Banks of Galax; and sister, Opal Semones of Hillsville. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Heath Banks Cemetery.
