James Barnard (J.B.) Shockley, 69, of Pulaski, passed away July 2, 2008 at New River Valley Medical Center. He was born Mar. 21, 1939 in Hillsville to Maggie Cochran Shockley and Everett Shockley. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Page Stafford Shockley of Pulaski; mother, Maggie Cochran Shockley of Hillsville; step sons, Steve Stafford and wife, Lisa, Brian Stafford and wife, Lori all Pearisburg; step daughter, Cynthia Stafford and fiancé, Steve Chandler; brothers, Dennie Shockley and Ernie Shockley both of Hillsville; five step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, July 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Bear Springs United Methodist Church  with Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Burial followed in the Hamblin Cemetery in Bear Springs. A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home of Pearisburg was in charge of the arrangements.
