Elwood Hodges Hackler, 94, of Galax,  passed away Thursday, July 3, at the Waddell Nursing Home in Galax. She was born June 2, 1914 to Pless and Dora Jennings Hodges in Low Gap, NC. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Wanda Hackler of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman and son, Carroll Dean. The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Gladeville United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Ciorini officiating. Burial followed in the Monta Vista Cemetery, Galax.
