Carroll County High School is asking for candidates for its third sports hall of fame class.

The first induction class, held earlier in 2014, included six graduates from 1970-1984 (Gary Hull, Pat Sharp, Kim Gillespie, Steve Dowdy and Terry Dalton) as well as legendary coaches Bill Worrell and Tommy Thompson. The second class, inducted January of 2015, included Joe Shumate and Billy Clougher and one contributor, the late Danny Nester.

Nominations are now being accepted and may be made by anyone for committee review for the classes of 2000-2011. Nominations are due by Dec. 1, 2015.

Nominations should be made for those graduating during 2000-2011 that are not already honored on the CCHS Wall of Fame. In order to preserve the heritage and tradition of athletic excellence at Carroll County High School, the Carroll County High School Athletic Hall of Fame is created to honor the very best of Cavalier athletes.

This special honor will recognize members of the Cavalier family who distinguished themselves as outstanding contributors to athletics at Carroll County High School and potentially beyond by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to, and the promotion of, athletic excellence, character values, and good sportsmanship.
