Carroll to play King’s Fork in state quarters

Carroll County’s girls’ basketball team will face King’s Fork (25-4) in the 4A State Quarterfinals on Friday, March 4 at 6:45 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.


Carroll County’s girls’ basketball team will face King’s Fork (25-4) in the 4A State Quarterfinals on Friday, March 4 at 6:45 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.

The Cavaliers enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed in the West. King’s Fork is the No. 3 seed from the East region.

Other 4A state quarterfinals are as follows: #1 West – William Fleming vs. #4 East – Hugenout, 11 a.m. on Sat., March 5 at Salem Civic Center; No. 2 East – Woodrow Wilson vs. No. 3 West – Millbrook, 2 p.m. on Fri., March 4 at Old Dominion University; No. 1 East – Monacan vs. No. 4 West – Loudon Valley, 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

The William Fleming-Hugenout and WoodrowWilson-Millbrook winners will play in a state semifinal on Mon., March 7 at 10 a.m. at the Siegel Center at VCU. The Carroll County-King’s Fork and Monacan-Loudon Valley winners will play March 7 at 2 p.m. in the other state semifinal at the Siegel Center at VCU. The state championship is set for Weds., March 9 at 10 a.m. at VCU’s Siegel Center.
