Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork is offering showers, phone & laptop recharging, water, etc to its neighbors who are still without electricity, and greatly reduced lodging rates for those still being affected.
While Olde Mill has suffered its own problems with power loss, Sherry Slaughter in the resort’s marketing department said the resort has had power now for the past 24 hours and wants to help those in need in the area.
“It is limited because we do have our other lodging guests, so we want it for those with the greatest need, those without electricity with the temperatures around 100 degrees and the high humidity,” Slaughter said. “We’ve had several people come in today without power and many are projected to not have it back until Saturday, so we wanted to be able to help.”
The resort’s main office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and will be offering assistance, while the resort’s restaurant is open until 9 p.m.
“If it’s after 5 p.m., they need to check in at the restaurant. If they need containers with water, they are welcome to do that,” Slaughter said. “Anyone needing held probably should call beforehand to our main office at (276) 398-2211 or the restaurant at (276) 398-2578.”
