Alleged carjacker indicted for attempted first degree murder

The 23-year-old Woodlawn man accused of an attempted carjacking in Hillsville in January has been indicted for two counts of attempted first degree murder and eight other charges.

Richard Austin Williams was indicted Monday by a Carroll County Grand Jury for two counts of attempted first degree murder, five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of attempted abduction, and attempted carjacking.

Just before 7 p.m. on Jan. 9, the Hillsville Police Department and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the lot behind Dawn Auction in town. There, they found Williams with gunshot wounds. Williams was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

According to Hillsville Police Chief Steve Williams, Richard Williams met with two victims to test drive a car. After driving the car and telling the owner he wished to purchase the vehicle, he brandished a weapon and shots were fired. The second attempted carjacking victim returned fire and hit Richard Williams. During a preliminary hearing in Carroll County Circuit Court, David Myers testified that he shot Williams after the man pulled a gun on him and his brother, Terry Myers.

Also indicted by the Carroll County Grand Jury on Monday were:

Tony R. Akers was indicted for four counts of embezzlement of food and beverage tax.

Zachary Zane Campbell was indicted for one count each of grand larceny and statutory burglary.

Kathy Ramirez Caviness was indicted for five counts of public assistance fraud.

Michael David Curtis was indicted for one count each of grand larceny, statutory burglary and destruction of property.

Jay Steven Harris was indicted for grand larceny.

Ayesha Kamal was indicted for bad check.

Holly Dawn Kelley was indicted for three counts of embezzlement and one count each of obtaining money by false pretenses and conspiring to embezzlement.

Carolyn Kaye Lane was indicted for three counts of embezzlement and one count each of obtaining money by false pretenses and conspiring to embezzlement.

Daniel Wade Monday was indicted for one count each of making a false statement on application for certificate of title, obtaining a certificate of title when not entitled, possession of a Schedule II drug (oxycontin/oxycodone) with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine), and possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug.

Amy Carrico Roberts was indicted for three counts of embezzlement and one count each of obtaining money by false pretenses and conspiring to embezzlement.

Danny Ray Tate was indicted for one count each of obtaining money by false pretenses, larceny with the intent to sell, grand larceny, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

Jennifer Tate was indicted for one count each of grand larceny, obtaining money by false pretenses, larceny with the intent to sell, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

Thomas Tate, Jr. was indicted for one count each of obtaining money by false pretenses, larceny with the intent to sell, grand larceny, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

Thomas Burton Tate, Sr. was indicted for one count each of larceny with the intent to sell, obtaining money by false pretenses, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, and grand larceny.

Billy Roger Weaver, Jr. was indicted for violation of H.O. Statute.

Jennifer Rose Wheatley was indicted for embezzlement.

Alan Lloyd Alexander was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Stacey Jo Alford was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (oxycodone).

Stevie Ray Alley was indicted for shoplifting third offenhse.

Max Ray Baker was indicted for attempting to obtain drugs by false pretenses.

Anthony Ray Beamer was indicted for four counts of forgery, and two counts each of uttering and attempting to utter.

Billy Gene Blevins, Jr. was indicted for one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and distribution of Schedule II drug upon public property or property within 1,000 feet of property to public or private schools.

Donald Ray Bobbitt was indicted for shoplifting third offense.

Douglas Michael Bolen, Jr. was indicted for grand larceny.

Eddie Wayne Branson was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methadone).

Kimberly Ann Breeding was indicted for shoplifting.

Darren Eugene Burkhardt was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Keith Lloyd Byrd was indicted for eluding a law enforcement officer.

Ethan Brock Cole was indicted for carnal knowledge of a child.

Holly Franklin Combs was indicted for shoplifting third offense.

Robert James Creed was indicted for grand larceny.

Joshua Klee Crowder was indicted for shoplifting third offense.

Ronald Eugene Dalton was indicted for attempted possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.

Brandon Keith Daniels was indicted for bad check.

Kimberly J. Dillon was indicted for bad check.

Amy Lynette Edwards was indicted for shoplifting.

Kenneth Ray Elledge, Jr. was indicted for two counts of attempted credit card forgery.

William Eugene Flippen was indicted for distribution of marijuana.

Noel Harris Gardner was indicted for one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine), possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug, and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

Wilmer Gerardo Gonzalez was indicted for shoplifting.

Angela White Goad was indicted for receiving stolen property.

Clayton Kevin Gray was indicted for assault and battery on a police officer.

Charlene Danielle Harris was indicted for manufacture of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Timothy Lane Harris was indicted for manufacture of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Jose Miguel Curiel Hernandez was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine), possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of a firearm by a person who is not a citizen of the United States.

Timothy James Hicks was indicted for possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute (methamphetamine), and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a violent felony.

Howard Todd Hill was indicted for conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Jeremiah Ryan Hill was indicted for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.

Richard Allen Hines was indicted for possession with intent to distribute 10 grams or 20 grams or more methamphetamine mixture.

Dennis James Hudson was indicted for taking indecent liberties with a child.

Rhyan Lee Isom was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Scott Eric Jarels was indicted for seven counts of each of obtaining money by false pretenses, forgery, and uttering, and one count of identity theft.

Kayla Charise Jones was indicted for one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug (cocaine), possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Randall Chase Jones was indicted for statutory burglary.

Ricky Clay Key was indicted for two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (oxycodone, methamphetamine).

Michael David Largin was indicted for distribution of marijuana.

Patricia Gail Long was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Anthony Tyrone Mainor was indicted for one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and forgery of a public document.

Steven Andrew McMillian was indicted for one count each of eluding a law enforcement officer, statutory burglary, and larceny of a firearm.

Timothy James Miller was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Jody Darrell Nichols was indicted for one count each of forgery of a public document, uttering a public document, and obtaining money by false pretenses.

Jose Nieto was indicted for one count each of eluding a law enforcement officer and driving on a revoked license for a DUI, second related offense.

Elmer Lee Ramsey-Long was indicted for two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Tracy Jason Rodrigue was indicted for two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Jeffery Lee Sechrist was indicted for two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine, oxycodone) and one count of statutory burglary.

Joshua Seth Stone was indicted for two counts of destruction of property.

Breanne Danielle Thompson was indicted for obtaining money by false pretenses.

Luke Allen Thompson was indicted for one count each of statutory burglary and grand larceny.

Aaron Leslie Whittington was indicted for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Brandon Seth Williams was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

Emily Dawn Williams was indicted for conspiracy to possess a Schedule II Controlled Sustance with intent to sell, give, or distribute.

Pamela Sue Woody was indicted for bad check.

Savannah Jean Yontz was indicted for one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the Drug Control Act.
