Carroll County Sheriff J

Carroll County Sheriff J.B. Gardner has confirmed that the body found in Grayson County on Wednesday is that of Desia Rae George, who has been missing since April 15.

A cell phone was found by an area resident beside Rush Creek Road. The sheriff’s department was notified and Deputy Brandon Edwards responded to the call. When Edwards arrived to collect the phone, he decided to look around the area and came upon a body, according to Gardner.

The body was sent to the state medical examiner, who notified Gardner Thursday that the body was that of George. Gardner said he has not yet been notified as to the cause of death.
