Due to Severe Thunderstorms, STORIES OF THE STITCH, the Arts Council’s Outdoor Quilt Show and Fiber Arts Showcase, has been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 15th.

The Rain Date of Saturday, Sept. 15th will have all the wonderful quilts, vendors, musicians & fiber arts demonstrators that were scheduled for September 8th – without the rain! The Red Cross will be doing breakfast and lunch as originally announced.

Thank you for your understanding and please plan to join us on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th for a GLORIOUS DAY in the sun at Matthews Living History Farm Museum.

Now in its eighth year, the annual quilt show showcases a wide range of fiber arts. In addition to the judged quilt show, demonstrations in spinning, weaving, and felting, as well as many other fiber related disciplines are scheduled. The day will include music, food & drink, and entertainment for the whole family. The Woods River Chapter of the American Red Cross will be doing breakfast for the early birds and a barbeque lunch with all the fixings for lunch.

To get to the Matthews Farm Museum travel west on 58 from Galax, go left on to Meadow Creek Road, travel about and mile and turn right on to White Pine Road. Hours for the Stories of the Stitch will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm and admission is Free of Charge.
