Mrs. Vera Evelyn Edwards McCraw, 77, of 1299 Johnson Farm Road, Pilot Mountain, NC, formerly of 110 Henry Road, Lambsburg, VA died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born September 2, 1930 in Carroll County, VA to the late John Anderson Edwards and Milie Evelyn Cagle Edwards. Mrs. McCraw retired from Pine State Knitwear and was of the Baptist faith. "To her family she was simply called "Ma" a woman who defined love, sacrifice and devotion. She always found joy in her flowers, in her sewing and in helping those that needed her. Her love for her family was unconditional and she could always see the ability and virtue in each of us. Her last words were to tell us she loved us all. How blessed we were to have her in our lives. Our feeling of loss is overwhelming, but we take great comfort in knowing that she is now finally free of pain and reunited with the great love of her life, our dear "Pa". She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou McCraw of Lambsburg, VA, Lois Ann and Billy Lawson of Pilot Mountain, NC, Pam and Tim Reid of Kernersville, NC; son and daughter-in-law, John H. and Donna McCraw of Lambsburg, VA; grandchildren, Becky and husband Brad Upchurch, Hope and husband Shawn Vaught, Rev.
