Occupation and why you selected it: Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent-Virginia Cooperative Extension, Carroll County office. I wanted to work and serve in the same community that I live in. Agriculture is the most important and largest industry in the U.S. I wanted to be involved in feeding the world and wanted to help people better themselves.
What clubs, groups and church do you belong: Carroll County Fair Committee. Holy Angels Church, Mt. Airy.
Education: B.S. in Agriculture from Kansas State University; M.S. in Agricultural Education from Kansas State University.
What is something most people don’t know about you? One time I was within five feet of Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain.
Favorite food? Ribeye steak, French fries, corn on the cob, chocolate cake and ice cream.
Favorite music and group/performer? The Eagles
Favorite book? James Herriot’s “All Creature’s” series
If you weren’t in education, what would you be doing? I would probably be working in production agriculture or in an agribusiness.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? Working with people to help them achieve their goals.
What is the least satisfying part of your job? Paperwork
Share your favorite memory in your life to date: Honeymooning with my wife in the Canadian Rockies.
Name something you find very irritating and why: People not following through on what they say that are going to do.
What is the best advice you were ever given and who gave it: “Do the very best you can and angels can’t do better.” My father.
What else would you like the people of Carroll County to know about you? That my wife and I really enjoy living in Carroll County and want to make a difference.
