On Saturday, December 14th, Titans of the Cage #7 promotions returns and will be held at the VFW in Hillsville.
This will mark the first MMA event ever held in Hillsville and will feature local fighters and fighters from surrounding states competing in a night of mixed martial arts action inside the cage. TOC fans will be treated to three (3) title bouts on a fight card that is set to feature a total of 16 solid MMA bouts. In addition to the three title bouts, Titans of the Cage #7 will feature many fighters from throughout the area looking to establish themselves as future contenders. TOC Promotions is coming off of its two largest events and is excited to bring MMA to the fans in Hillsville.
Two of the championship bouts which will be featured as the co-main event matches of the evening. The first will be in the light heavyweight division with undefeated Gage Stanley 7-0 of Bristol, TN taking on Brian Maxwell 7-5 of team Fight to live, out of Roanoke. This will be a much anticipated battle of two of the region’s top light heavyweights, both of whom have scored several knock out wins. History will also be made in the 2nd part of the co-main event which will feature the first time that a women’s MMA bout has been featured as the main event in VA. Current TOC women’s bantamweight champion, Charity “the edge” Walker, of Mt. Airy, NC will face a challenge from talented Lutts, TN fighter, Danielle Alexander. Alexander will make the seven hour drive to Hillsville in hopes of winning the belt.
In the other title bout, it will be current TOC featherweight champ, Jesse “the sponge” Hamm of Mt. Airy, NC taking on Brazilian Gil Goncalves who is fighting out of Tazewell, VA and formerly from Rio De Jenerio, Brazil. Hamm brings an undefeated record into the fight to face Goncalves who is 3-1 and hoping to become the new champion. Other bouts on the card will feature undefeated TOC lightweight champion, Micah “the original” Sheffey of Team SWMA of Wytheville, who will be fighting in a 160 lb. non-title fight bout, as he takes on Team Mercenary fighter, Randy “Rambo” Gibson from Bedford, VA.
Team SWMA fighter, Dakota McGinn, of Wytheville, will take on Scott Collins of Team Psycho in Big Stone Gap. Another Team SWMA standout, Johnse “Kryptonite” Hatfield looks to keep his undefeated record intact as he takes on Jamie Loftis of Abingdon, VA. Another big fight will be in the bantamweight division when Brandon “conflicted affair” Creed 2-1, of Sparta, NC returns to the cage to fight tough Coy Morrison from Bristol, TN. Undefeated Tiffani “farm all” Underwood of Team SWMA in Wytheville, will face Melissa “the war machine” Blyth of Princeton, WV in what should be a great fight. Popular Marion fighter, Troy “the big bad” Wolfe, will take on local Carroll Co. native, Gary Brown.
Another great match-up on the card will feature Wytheville fighter Ayron “the hurricane” Davis of Team Decimation, as he takes on Logan Griffen of Bristol, TN in a lightweight top contender bout. Another top contender bout will be in the welterweight division when another team decimation member, Josh Miller puts his undefeated record on the line against Austin Hazel of Mt. Airy, NC. Team decimation will also send Dustin Davis (brother of Ayron Davis) to the cage to do battle with Mike Peak an independent fighter from Wytheville. Tyler “Ace” Cardwell of team SWMA will make his debut in the cage as he takes on Robert Spence from Marion.
Others fighting on the card will be Sam “bam bam” Baker of Bluefield, WV taking on Randy Ferrill of Beckley, WV. Shayne Hayden of Wytheville will battle with James Settle of Bristol, while Josh Cox of Pulaski will face Carroll Co. native, Jeff Wright. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization that serves veterans and concessions will be provided by the Grover Jackson, VFW Post 1115 of Hillsville, VA. Fight wear and clothing vendors will be onsite, as well. TOC Promotions advocates a family atmosphere and does not tolerate profanity or unsportsmanlike conduct from fighters, coaches or spectators. The doors will open for the event at 5:30 P.M. and the fights start promptly at 7:00 P.M.
