Carroll County School Board Chairman Brian Spencer hands Tom Hale a trophy honoring him for his 15 years as Carroll County High School’s football coach. Hale is the school’s all-time winningest coach with 78 victories.
His teams accounted for seven of the 12 playoff appearances in the school’s 43-year history, and the school’s only two playoff wins.
Carroll County Schools Superintendent Dr. Strader Blankenship said “(Hale) is an excellent teacher. In my mind, to be a good coach, you have to be a good teacher.” Hale said his time at Carroll County High School has been “a fantastic teaching and coaching experience.” He added, “In my time here I’ve received support from everyone. I hope I have met those expectations.”
