Woodlawn School to remain a voting precinct, for now

At least for this year, Woodlawn School will remain a voting precinct on Election Day.
Kimberly Cloud, Carroll County’s General Registrar, said many people have called to ask if Woodlawn would still be used this year since the school closed in May.
“Woodlawn School will still be used as a precinct on Election Day, at least for this year,” Cloud said of the November 5 election. “As far as the future, we are just waiting to see what the county does with the building. But we do want to let our voters know that Woodlawn School is still a precinct and it will be the same process as in the past as to how they vote. The equipment will be set up in the cafeteria.”
County citizens can still cast absentee ballots at the Registrar’s Office in the Carroll County Governmental Complex. Absentee ballots can be cast from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, as well as from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Nov. 2 is the last day you can absentee vote in person, Cloud said. “And the last day we can mail out absentee ballots to you is October 29, so we need those applications out before then,” Cloud said. “If folks want sample ballots, just give us a call. We will be glad to mail them.”
