With heavy rains blanketing the area this week, several roads in Carroll County were closed Wednesday morning due to flooding and other rain-related issues.

Steady, and often heavy rainfall Tuesday, led to many roads being closed in the county. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, roads closed in Carroll County on Wednesday morning due to flooding included Keno Road (Route 640 E. and Route 640W.), Webb Drive (Route 921N. and Route 921S.), Orchard Gap Road (Route 691S. and Route 691 N.), Snake Creek (Route 670N. and Route 670 S.), Skyview Drive (Route 685N. and Route 685 S.), Nester School Road (Route 624E.).

River Road (Route 663) was also closed Wednesday due to a tree down.

“Things are much better now,” Giles said Wednesday morning. “The lake got up (Tuesday), but the water has gone down now.”
