Traffic stop results in multiple drug arrests


A traffic stop July 8 in the Pipers Gap section of Carroll County led to the arrest of three people on drug violation charges.

According to Carroll County Sheriff J.B. Gardner, Deputy Trevor Carico made numerous drug arrests in connection with a traffic stop at the intersection of Crooked Creek and Klondike Road in Pipers Gap.

“A quantity of meth, oxycodone, prescription drugs, and drug paraphernalia were seized from the stop,” Gardner said in a press release.

According to the Sheriff, Arce Andrew Bernal, 34, of Hillsville, was charged with violating the Drug Control Act with the possession of Schedule I, II, and IV drugs, which included meth, valium, oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. Also charged was Brandon Wayne Marshall, 31, with violating Schedule I, II, and IV Drug Control Acts in connection with the possession of oxycodone, possession of meth, possession of valium without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Jennifer Leigh Mayes Bernal, 22. Gardner said she was charged with violating Schedule I, II and IV Drug Control Acts in connection with the possession of meth, possession of oxycodone, possession of valium without a prescription, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three individuals were transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail in Dublin.
