Tibbs among 43 indicted Monday

A 32-year-old Independence man was indicted Monday by a Carroll County Grand Jury for one count each of escape and assault and battery on a police officer stemming from a March 15 incident that led to the injury of a local law enforcement officer.

Joey Wayne Tibbs was in Carroll County Circuit Court on March 15 to be sentenced for a guilty plea for possession of a Schedule II Drug he entered in January. At that time, Judge Brett Geisler sentenced Tibbs to 18 months in prison before the Grayson County man fled the courtroom. Carroll County Sgt. Doug Lam was injured as a result of the foot chase that ensued, suffering a head wound that required a few stitches.

According to Carroll County Sheriff Warren Manning, Tibbs made it to the elevator in the governmental center before he was apprehended and arrested.

In total, a Carroll County Grand Jury handed down 87 indictments against 43 people Monday. Others indicted Monday were: Bryan Keith Barr was indicted for threatening to burn.

Herbert Gray Bedwell was indicted for one count each of eluding a law enforcement officer and possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute.

Bill Gene Blevins, Jr. was indicted for receiving stolen property.

Shawn Allen Bond was indicted for one count each of statutory burglary and destruction of property.

Calvin Jermaine Boysaw was indicted for two counts of abuse and neglect of a child.

Brenda Annette Brooks was indicted for five counts of forgery and five counts of uttering.

Jason Eugene Brown was indicted for one count each of petit larceny-third offense and escape.

Bobby Dewayne Carter was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (oxycodone) with intent to distribute.

Destany Nicole Conner was indicted for shoplifting third offense.

Dawn Marie Cooke was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute.

Clayton Dewight Cox was indicted for one count each of eluding a law enforcement officer and unauthorized use of an automobile.

Curtis Junior Dalton was indicted for petit larceny-third offense.

James Darnell Dalton was indicted for attempted statutory burglary.

James Michael Dunford was indicted for malicious wounding.

Jennifer Lea Foore was indicted for shoplifting.

Richard James Gardner was indicted for abuse and neglect of a child.

Geraldine Mae Geddes was indicted for one count of a bad check.

Gregory Gozzo was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (cocaine) with intent to distribute.

Ashley Caryn Grimes was indicted for one count each of hit and run and abuse and neglect of a child.

Ricky Brandon Hawks was indicted for one count each of possession of a firearm after being convicted for a felony and possession of ammunition after being convicted of a felony.

Kevin Keith Hodges was indicted for two counts of obtaining a drug by false pretenses.

Darlene Louise Hudson was indicted for two counts of obtaining a drug by false pretenses.

Robby Shane Isaacs was indicted for one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) and possession of ammunition after being convicted of a felony.

Keith Alan Isom was indicted for shoplifting third offense.

Jerry Wayne Jenkins was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (cocaine).

Douglas Lee Liddle was indicted for malicious wounding.

Earnest Rahsan-Jamal Little was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (cocaine).

Gerald Randolph Lyons was indicted for forgery of a public document.

Anthony Wayne Martin was indicted for five counts of forgery and five counts of uttering.

Anthony Wayne Montgomery was indicted for possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine).

James Michael Pack, Jr. was indicted for three counts of statutory burglary, three counts of grand larceny, and two counts of larceny of a firearm.

Gregory Wayne Puckett was indicted for receiving stolen property.

Joseph Robert Slayton was indicted for one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule I drug (psilocyn).

Norma Faye Thomas was indicted for abuse and neglect of a child.

Brandi Nicole Vaughan was indicted for grand larceny.

Thomas Lester Webb was indicted for unauthorized use of an automobile.

George Douglas Wright was indicted for one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II substance, and distribution of a Schedule II drug upon public property or property within 1,000 feet of property open to public or private schools.
