Ayers, Worrell announce wedding plans

Shannon and Leesa Ayers of Cana are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Elizabeth Ayers, to William Jacob “Jake” Worrell. Worrell is the son of Craig and Dawn Worrell of Hillsville and Kelly Worrell of Woodlawn.


Grace is a 2009 graduate of Carroll County High School and is currently employed by RidgeCrest Retirement Community. She plans to attend Forsyth Tech in the Spring. Worrell is a 2010 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 2013 graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He will graduate from the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy on June 25 and is currently employed as a Deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.


The grandparents of the future bride are Jim and Nell Ayers of Cana and Irene and the late Billy Moxley of Cana. The grandparents of Jake are Rachel and the late Bill Worrell of Hillsville and Jay and Linda Montgomery of Hillsville.


The couple plan an Aug. 23 wedding at 5 p.m. at the Craig Worrell residence.
