The field was set for the town elections in May when Mayor Greg Crowder filed Tuesday with the Carroll County General Registrar’s Office for a second term.

Crowder is being challenged by Billie Taylor.

Both town council seats up for election will also be contested.

Nancy Beasley is challenging incumbent Greg Yonce, who will be seeking his fourth term as the Laurel Fork District representative.

In the Sulphur Springs District race, incumbent Billy Walls Sr. is being challenged by Bill Tate, who served 10 years on council before serving as mayor from 2008-2012.
