A 37-year-old Winston-Salem, N.C. man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Sunday evening in the Gladesboro section of Carroll County.
According to Virginia State Police reports, the accident occurred Sunday at 6:45 p.m. on Greenberry Road, six-tenths of a mile north of Horton Road. Investigating Trooper J.R. Alderman wrote in his report that Jamie Lee Cable, 37, of Winston-Salem, N.C. was traveling north on Greenberry Road in a 2001 Cadillac DeVille when the vehicle ran off the road to the right, struck an embankment and tree before overturning in the roadway. Alderman’s report stated that Cable was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cable’s wife, Serena Cable, was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported to Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax for “non life-threatening injuries,” Virginia State Police First Sgt. Mike Musser said.
The investigation into the accident is continuing, Musser said.
