Simmons charged with grand larceny, B&E

A Hillsville man has been charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering and grand larceny.

According to Carroll County Sheriff J.B. Gardner, Investigator Donnie Spangler of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants Oct. 25 charging Zachary Skyler Simmons with the breaking and entering of a building belonging to Floyd Richardson located on Old Mill Manor Road and the residence of Joseph Boyles located on Pops Peak Road, both in Carroll County.

A Search Warrant was executed at Simmons’ home on Akers Avenue in Hillsville and numerous stolen items were recovered, Gardner said. Mr. Richardson’s property was valued at $200 and Mr. Boyles’ property was valued at more than $3,000.

Simmons has been charged with three counts of breaking & entering, five counts of Grand Larceny and one count of destruction of property, Gardner said. Simmons was transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail.
