Ben Franklin visiting library Oct. 23

Ben Franklin is coming to the Carroll County Public Library in Hillsville on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.

Franklin, one of America’s favorite founding fathers, will speak on “The Magic of Reading.” He will humor, instruct, and astound children and adults of all ages. Come learn the secrets of one of the world’s most famous readers, as he discusses his life, his achievements, and his favorite hobby-reading.

“The Magic of Reading” is an entertaining program designed to enlighten children and adults and inspire them to acquire a love of knowledge, a love of reading that will last forever. Come learn the secrets of one of the world’s best and most famous readers, Benjamin Franklin, as he discusses his life, achievements, and his favorite hobby reading.

“From a child I was fond of reading, and all the little money that came into my hands was ever laid out in books.”

Many participants become part of the program as Ben challenges them to remember everything he says—and rewards them when they do!

Among the topics covered: Why reading is magic, How to make reading more fun, Major facts about Ben Franklin, How the Magic of Reading Challenge works, and The Four Reading Virtues.

The program concludes with a re-enactment of a scientific experiment Ben actually performed. Everyone learns, everyone has fun.
